Generation Hope was amazing! We had such a kool week...300 people at the bbq, 250 at the mal pope event, over 300 at the gig and a mixture of all the churches in Abergavenny at the final celebration. More importantly, all in all we had about 30 people saved or ask for prayer and literature. God really moved and had His hand upon this week. The street teams saw about 70 people over all hit the streets of abergavenny, litter picking, gardening and providing free screen washes. The yellow t-shirts stood out so much and all in all we gave out about 10,000 flyers!!! It was all about serving the town. The morning prayer meetings were made up from all different churches in the town. It was so nice to see unity building between the churches- methodist, family church, baptist, anglicans, evangelical, Holy trinity- all joining hand in hand for one common goal of bringing God's love for the lost and broken into the community. It also re-shaped a number of peoples ideas and mindsets of what the church was and what it was all about- justice, compassion, mercy and life. More importantly it reshaped many peoples mindset about who God was and what He was all about. It was awesome!!! Some days saw us working from 8 in the morning till about 12 at night which was quite a handful so now im well tired. Ive been thinking about what my highlight of the week was and its strange because all the events were so amazing and it should really be one of them. Or it couldve been just the working together aspect of litter picking etc. Or even the early morning prayer meetings- some of them were so uplifting. But, i think my highlights of the week were praying for 2 special people. Firstly a guy called Alex, about 11, who got saved at thebandwithnoname gig (they were so gd!). Just praying for someone who had just come before the cross and given his burden of sin to Jesus was amzing- like welcoming a brother home or an exile back into the Kingdom. The other person was just at the end of the last event, when a mother came up to me with her 8 year old daughter, Jessica who had said she was really touched by the worship that evening and loved the way that i praised God! It really overwhelmed me and so praying for her was such a special moment. I dont think i'll ever forget it. For some reason encouragement from an 8 year old girl sometimes means so much more than an adult telling me 'i have a gift'. It was just so touching.
During the genhope week i came back to a song i started back in novemeber called 'my plea'. The chorus came as a result of my joy overflowing one night about 11 in my room after having come back from an event where one of my friends who i had been praying for for a while had been saved. The line 'my plea has been heard in the throne room of heaven, my cry has echoed through the courts of the Lamb' naturally poured out with the melody (which is so beautiful). The way it came was too perfect for it to be real at first. But the more and more i tried i couldnt find a verse for it. I had just the chorus and bridge. The eventually the first verse came to me one day after thinking about Daniel 10, which also inspired me for the second part of the chorus- the idea that God's grandieur and splendour overwhelm us when we're caught up in His prescence. Last week, during genhope, i managed to find the second verse. It basically talks about what my has been for over these past few months and leads nicely into the chorus- recognising that the King has heard our prayers, through the blood of the Lamb. Here it is.....
"Verse:
I’m pouring out my weakness, that I may know Your strength
For before the God of wonders, Your splendour overwhelms
And before the King of heaven, The Holy One who stands
I fall in awe of You
My cry has been for mercy, that the lost may find their King
That the captives may find freedom, and to hear Your exiles sing
But as I bow my heart before You, I’m naked and I’m weak
I fall in awe of You
Chorus:
My plea has been heard in the throne room of heaven
My cry has echoed through the courts of the Lamb
My heart is trembling, as I enter the arms of the Holy One
My strength has left me as I enter Your presence
I’m weak and I’m faint at the sound of Your voice
My heart is awestruck, as I fall into the arms of the Holy One
Verse:
I’m pouring out my weakness, that I may know Your strength
For before the God of wonders, Your splendour overwhelms
And before the King of heaven, The Holy One who stands
I fall in awe of You
Chorus:
My plea has been heard in the throne room of heaven
My cry has been brought through the blood of the Lamb
My heart is trembling, as I enter the arms of the Holy One
My strength has left me as I enter Your presence
I’m weak and I’m faint at the sound of Your voice
My heart is awestruck, as I fall into the arms of the Holy One
Bridge:
Holy One, how we love and adore You
Faithful One, how we lift high Your name
Ancient One, I will ever hold on to
You’re forever the same"
Contagious is in 2 weeks! woopwoop, tis gonna be awesome. For some reason our focus seems to have turned to finding christian girl friends for everyone! Slightly warped but there we go! Nah, i think we're all going there simply to meet with God and listen to His whisper which is so evident in the atmosphere of contagious. Should be gd!

I think the little girls praise meant so much to you because you have the mind of an 8 year old (joking...mostly)
